Curuba is a juicy and slightly acid Fruit; that is, produced mostly in Colombia and Venezuela (South America). When Curuba-Fruit is mature it looks like a small banana; hence, its English name: Banana-Passion-Fruit.
Curuba-Fruit has a gelatinous consistency; and, a unique flavour; both: exotic and smooth; at the same time; that, cannot be compared to any other fruit flavour.
Because of its exotic taste & flavour, Curuba-Fruit is frequently consumed fresh; or, prepared as: Fruit juice; Fruit Smoothies; Milk-Shakes; Sherbets (Sorbet); Ice cream flavouring and other desserts; or, as a marmalade. *Curuba Fruit is most commonly mixed with milk; and, may need sweetening to satisfy a North American taste palate expecting a powerful tropical flavour - in this regard - Curuba will disappoint.
Curuba-Fruit has a high water content; and, Curuba-Fruit flesh is rich in Calcium, Phosphorous,
and Iron minerals; as well a good source of vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and C. Curuba-Fruit has been used to treat nervous system problems; and, to treat intestinal and stomach conditions due to its natural soothing properties.
