Andes-Berry and BlackBerry are the English terms for Mora; its scientific name is Rubus glaucus. Colombia; South America; is the second largest producer of Castilian Blackberry.
Castilian Blackberry-Fruit; originated in the Americas; is the most popular variety with a brilliant and attractive color; and, tart flavour before it ripens. Ripened Blackberries become sweet and dark with a pleasant aroma. Blackberries are a group of small grains. At first the BlackBerry-Fruits are green; developing into red; then purple; and, a brilliant black when they are fully ripe.
The popular wild Blackberry-Fruit is known as “the zarzamora”; also, known as black raspberry.
The Blackberry plant has thorns similar to the ones of wild roses. The Blackberry fruits look like oblong strawberries in the shape of a thimble. Blackberries are the most known and popular of Colombian fruits. They are produced all year round and are used to make several dishes; Sweets; Fruit Juice drinks; and, a Cocktail Mixer.
